Why area alone does not determine yardage
A piece can have a small area and still be too wide for the roll. This planner adds seam allowances first, rounds repeat reservations up on each axis, and compares three deterministic shelf orders.
Two 60 × 50 cm pieces fit in one 50 cm row on a 140 cm usable roll. With 20 cm horizontal and 30 cm vertical repeats, they reserve 60 × 60 cm slots and need a 60 cm row. A 10 cm end allowance brings the estimate to 70 cm. Grain and nap restrictions can increase the length.
